Shiny Business Syndrome

Recently, I was going over a new funnel and ads strategy with my business coach. After I’d finished laying out my shiny new marketing plan, my coach said, “Bradley, don’t be cute. Keep things simple. Master the fundamentals first.” He proceeded to revise this complicated, trendy strategy to be a simple and effective plan. This coaching session got me thinking…where else in my business am I being cute while losing effectiveness?

Strategy Over Shiny Objects

I know this is easier said than done. I coach business owners on installing systems and playbooks into their business every single day, yet I personally was mesmerized by this complex marketing strategy. But when I go back to the basics of BlueprintOS, I’m reminded that the marketing OS from my business is simple and effective too. There’s no reason to invent a new strategy when we have one that is doing exactly what we need. My business coach’s reality check took me back to the basics of my own OS!

it's time to solve the rainmaker's dilemma

It’s difficult to get to your destination if you aren’t sure where you currently are! After all, the path from Minnesota to Canada is very different than the path from Mexico to Canada. If you aren’t certain where you’re at today in business, you need to take the Rainmaker to Architect assessment. It will gauge your strengths and weaknesses as a leader and in your business. Then, you’ll get detailed, specific suggestions for improvement. Take the assessment here.
