If you’ve been around BGC at any length of time, you know how much we talk about Core 4 Values. There are a lot of things that go into creating and integrating those, so we won’t go too much into detail about HOW today. But we wanted to share BGC’s Core 4. Hopefully it will inspire you to reassess yours and consider how to implement them!
OUR CORE 4 VALUES
1. PROVIDE VALUE FIRST AND OVER-DELIVER
We live that out as much as we can. Any time we speak to someone, we want to provide value way before you purchase. We are here to serve, and we want to do that. Whether that’s sharing a link, a blog, a book, a podcast, hop on a call, etc. We seek to over-deliver. For example, if you’re in a time of crisis, we do whatever we can to move around and support you.
2. GROWTH CONTRIBUTION
We’re constantly growing and learning, reading books, listening to podcasts, reading blogs, etc. I’ve invested 100s of $1000s to invest in myself and my team. This allows us to contribute more to you! It’s not just about us getting better, it’s about contributing to you.
3. FIRST CLASS EXPERIENCE
My upbringing experienced this. My dad was a farmer and we grew up in a rural part of Alabama. He valued doing things right and high quality. We want everything we do to be first class for you.
4. POSITIVE, ENERGETIC TEAMWORK
Energy is so important to us! We have to embody that energy in our communications, work, and coaching. I try to send messages and videos when I have high energy. I want my team to have positive, energetic teamwork so that you can feed off of the energy.
WHY YOUR CORE 4 MATTER
BGC’s core four are all about the client. We seek to provide value and support to our client while providing the best experience possible every time! Some other examples of core four are Family, Mindset, Collaborative Teamwork, and Unique. Many people have core values for their personal lives as well as their business. Do any of these values resonate with you?
Harvard Business Review put out a great article all about Core Values. They illustrate how to define what useful core values are and what empty values are as well. The power of having core four values is that your team’s actions are led by them. When your business exemplifies its values, employees are 20-25% more productive. Conversely, when you don’t operate in alignment with core values, your employees become actively disengaged. This becomes a costly expense in lost productivity. They define the most important things for your business, and they drive your priorities.
Your values lend relevance to daily tasks and gives a bigger picture for the business. They are closely aligned with your business’ ethics. One of our core ethics is to make a difference. Because of this, our values enable us to give back through living them out.
