Does your business growth feel capped by your schedule? Bradley thinks that if we can combine team plus an operating system for the business to run on, your business can run and scale far beyond what you can do individually. This may become controversial, but I’m sharing my perspective of why believe there are a few ways that a business can grow well beyond the individual owner, founder, and CEO.
The Law of The Lid
One of 21 irrefutable laws from John Maxwell is “the law of the lid.” Maxwell defines the Law of the Lid by saying “leadership ability is the lid that determines a person’s level of effectiveness. The lower an individual’s ability to lead, the lower the lid on his potential. So I believe the one thing that as a founder or CEO of your business you can’t actually delegate is the vision for the future direction of the company.
At the same time, I think that the business can grow beyond the owner. I think there are a couple of different ways this can happen. One of my philosophical beliefs is around how you run the business. If you can design, build, and then install an operating system for the business to run on, instead of it being dependent on you, then that also allows the business to be able to grow past that individual owner.
Teams
I believe that the team that you put in place allows it to be able to grow beyond you. Apple grew beyond its owner, starting with Steve Jobs, and then it saw 300% growth under Tim Cook. And when Steve Jobs was interviewed about the thing he is most proud of in his business, he said it was his team.
So how does a business grow beyond its owner? An incredible team paired with an operating system allows that business to go so much further than what one individual person is able to do.
So many owners hire to grow their business, only to find that their team makes or breaks the whole thing. If you know you want to Attract, Develop, and Retain A-Players so that you can eventually move out of the day to day, you need to join us for
